Hello all,
I have inspiron 1100 since new. I couldn’t find the xp reinstallation disks that came with the laptop so I tried the xp disk that came with my desktop. Guess what? Dead Inspiron! It seemed to take the reinstall and worked but after I shut it down, upon restart, nothing. I hear the fan run for 2 seconds and shuts off. No screen . Pressed every combination of keys that I could think of to get the bios up but not a glimmer. Tried some bootable disks to boot from dos, nothing. Is this some kind of security thing ? Can it be fixed? Thanks in advance for any advice.
