Unzip HJT into it's own permanent folder before doing anything in order for it to create backups. (Not a temporary folder or directly on the desktop (in a folder on the desktop is fine) & not directly on your hard drive). Close all (browser) windows & rescan with hijackthis. When the scan is finished place a check in the box to the left of the following entries & click 'fix checked' :

Reboot into safe mode following the instructions here & navigate to & delete the following if found:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\ALCXMNTR.EXE-file
C:\WINDOWS\System32\tpjhcc.exe-file

Clear out your Temporary internet files and other temp files.
Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel >Internet Options.
Under the General tab click the Delete temporary internet files,
delete all Offline content as well. Clear out Cookies.

Also, go to Start > Find/search > Files or folders > in the named box, type: *.tmp and choose Edit > select all -> File > delete.

Empty/delete the entire contents of the C:\Windows\temp folder and C:\temp folder, if you have one. (Contents but not the folder itself.)

This one too if Win2K or XP.
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp\

In order to view these files you may have to select 'show hidden files/folders.' Instructions on how to here.

Empty the Recycle Bin.

Reboot normally after doing the above then post a fresh log please.

If you check here, it is listed as spyware. Entirely up to you though :). Personally, I would update manually & disable it in Msconfig.

Hijackthis is not in a folder. Not a big problem where it is, but you will have backups all over the desktop which you may likely delete inadvertantly.

You also missed a couple more.

Open Task Manager & end process on the following:

tpjhcc.exe Then navigate to C:\WINDOWS\System32 & delete that file manually.

Close all (browser) windows & rescan with hijackthis. When the scan is finished place a check in the box to the left of the following entries & click 'fix checked':

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://srch-us9.hpwis.com/
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://srch-us9.hpwis.com/
This search goes to overture, which is the reason for deletion.

Go here for an on-line scan & set it to autoclean for you.
