I was surfing the Internet, and when I closed my Internet browser, my mouse does not worked! My Avira antivirus do not detected anything! What is going on?

Hi all, like this poster my mouse is also disabled. i was surfing the net one night and closed down the computer. next time i booted up my mouse didnt respond, it will only respond in safe mode. Then in safe mode my modem or port is disabled so i cant download a virus scan. win me.
any help appreciated,
