mp3 codec virus, please help!

I opened a music file the other day after scanning it with Norton and getting it back as clean and now my computer is struggling. Every ten seconds or so it refreshes like when your desktop goes to the restore active desktop screen. It closes most things that are open when it does it. I was able to run Malwarebytes on it and cleaned out all of that, rebooted. It still does the same thing. I can't get Eset to work cause it shuts it down before it finishes downloading. I have some really important stuff on this machine that I need to get off of it.

Can you pls do the following:

1. - Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?part=dl-10804572&subj=dl&tag=button) to your desktop.

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure to checkmark the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad.
* Post the log back here.

Make sure that you restart the computer.

GOOD! That's done some really good work.

OK, well from what i can, there is nothing wrong with your hijackthis log..... but wait for one of the other members to come and confirm that it is clean.

I still had the problem after that so I downloaded AVG and ran that. It found only 3 errors and they were all in the hijackthis log as well. I guess that hijackthis didn't celan them out even though I checked them and hit scan and fi, because AVG got rid of them and the problem is fixed. Thank god a buddy of mine told me to try it. Norton, Malwarebytes, and Hijackthis didn't fix it, but AVG did.

Hijackthis won't clean them out unless you tell it to!

Pls post a fresh hijackthis and another member can give it a look, just to confirm everything has been taken care of.
