my computer randomly stopped allowing windows updates internet explorer won't work but firefox will i can't run norton anymore and it can't live update but when i ran my antispyware program it found something called virtumonde and got rid of it but my computer still isn't allowing all those other things

Alright,

Can you pls go into Add / Remove Programs - Start > Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs, and remove all Java Components

Then go to www.java.com and download and install the latest Java.

Reboot your Computer.

Then run HJT again and post the log.

I'm worried about a few HJT entries....

Try running IEFIX.htm which will repair IE and run a System File Check.

Can you please do the following.

We'll need to disable AdAware's AdWatch, since it might interfere with other program(s) we might be using to 'clean' off your system; you can re-enable it after we're done. To disable this feature, run AdAware SE, then:

1. Click "AdWatch".
2. Click "Tools and Preferences".

(Look at the bottom of the window you will see two options...)

3. Uncheck these options:

Active: This will turn Ad-Watch On\Off without closing it
Automatic: Suspicious activity will be blocked automatically

Remember to re-enable this feature once your system is clean.

IE may need a re-install too then.

Can try this, but not sure if it will work with IE8;

1) find the ie.inf file located in Windows\Inf folder.
2) Right click the ie.inf file and click Install on the context menu.
3) Reboot the computer when the file copy process is complete.

Right click on the IE7 icon and select Properties. Go to the advanced Tab and then select the 'Reset' button at the bottom.
Apply the settings and ok out. Reboot your pc and see if it works now.

this is after running malware bytes some of the problems fixed like i was able to turn auto updates back on and now malware isn't detecting anything but i still can't run certain things like my norton or internet explorer but my firefox is still fine

i did as u asked but it didn't change the norton or internet explorer problems but other than that the computer has been fine since the malware scan earlier firefox still works and it stopped doing wierd things i was able to turn the microsoft automatic updates back on but i would like to find a way to get the internet explorer working again just because its annoying i did the IEFix without the disk because i am not sure where my service pack 3 disk is

ok it seems symantec being so screwed up was causing internet explorer to wig out as well when i uninstalled it the internet explorer came back and i haven't seen any problems as far as the trojans since this morning so for the time being ima mark this as solved lol thanks for the help guys.
