For some reason internet explorer keeps on opening on start-up. Now, at first I thought nothing of it as the internet is the first thing I go for when I log on but now im not so sure. I have removed it from the start menu as everyone I've asked has said that but to no avail. Me thinks it might be to do with a virus I had "w32.spybot.worm." Any help/info would be greatly appreciated as this problem is just really annoying.

Hi Jayboy, welcome to DaniWeb :)
Since a virus is suspected, I've moved this thread to the appropriate forum.
Get HijackThis from here:

Hi jayboy,
The following two entries in your log are responsible for IE starting automatically when Windows starts:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [windows] iexplore.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [windows] iexplore.exe
There are also a couple of other things in the log which should be cleaned up, but first:
Your log indicates that you are using an outdated version (1.98.2) of HijackThis. Please download the latest version (1.99.1) using the link in my sig below, install and run the new version, and post the log it generates.

Make sure that Internet Explorer is not running, run HJT again, and have it fix:

Although your log currently shows no signs of malicious infections, if the IE "Run" entries in HijackThis automagically reappear at some point, I'd start suspecting foul play.

Thanks a lot, it worked and now it doesn't open on start up. Much appreciated.
Thanks again, Jayboy.

You should post another log for a final check :)
