Hi there,
I'm trying to determine whether or not my computer has some malicious files. Specifically, this one: Google Desktop/09b.../icons/safeweb/slideshow/picasa_cache/smugmug.com~hack~feed.mg.
I noticed it because the sidebar of my Google Desktop usually displays photos that are saved in "My Pictures" but I saw one displayed that was not saved there...in fact, I didnt know where it came from. When I clicked on it, I remembered it from a Web site that I viewed several weeks ago (smugmug.com, which allows various Web sites to have a photo gallery), and my first thought was that it belonged at least in my temporary Internet files, if anything, but certainly not in My Pictures, since I didnt save it.
It was not in "My Pictures," rather in the above file location. I looked at some of the files in the folders above its location, and saw the following files that appear to be threatening in a folder entitled "safeweb":
goog-black-enchashm.cf1
goog-black-enchashmh.ht1
goog-black-urlm.cf1
goog-black-urlmh.ht1
goog-malware-domainm.cf1
goog-malware-domainmh.ht1
goog-white-domainm.cf1
goog-white-domainmh.ht1
I did a scan with Malwarebytes, but nothing came back malicious. I'm not sure what to make of this. My gut is telling me that it's not good, especially since I see the words, "hack" and "malware" in the file names. Please help. Thanks!
