Ok, before we start, you have a problem. Create a new folder in Program Files, and name it 'HJT'. Then, drag the HJT icon into this new folder, and rerun a scan.

This may seem pointless, but it has it's uses.

Post with a new scan.

Might want to scan with ewido. www.ewdio.net -- Also make sure you don't have any items disabled form running at start-up. If you do re-enable them and post a new log.

Actually im having a problem... I got this virus (not sure which, about:blank; i think) I ran Avast anti virus - spybot - adware - swapped out spybot for windows defender; which i ran both in safe and pre-windows boot and while it looks that i got rid of the virus i still have an icon on my notification area which is constantly alerting me of a virus and nothing i've tried short of the regedit has gotten rid of it... I've also cleared the past notifications from reg edit and nothing...I'll try checking these of from the Hjt and get back to you... thanks for your attention...

Alrite, it could be MarketBrowser. Let's begin by checking the following:

After doing this, reboot into save mode and delete the following file:

C:\Program Files\MarketBrowser

After doing this, reboot into normal mode and download SpySweeper (link in my sig below). Update its definitons and run a scan, saving the scan log.

Post back here with a eew HJT log, SpySweeper log, and the Ewido log if ya still have it.

Hmm alrite, I don't see anything in the log, but that doesn't mean it isn't there. SpySweeper caught some bad things (other then cookies), so that's good news.

Outta curiosity, which antivirus/antimalware is it that's telling ya ure infected?

their isn't a ref on the alert itself but when you click on it spyware quake advertising website is the result not to mention more times then not afterward im adware is cleaning out a crap load of stuff...

Ahh so its Spyware Quake. By the way, that's probably the infection that's killin ya right now.

Well after ya run adaware, download Ewido (link found in my sig below). Download it, update its definitions, and run a full scan, fixing everything presented. Save the log and post it here.

THerefore, in the nxt post, post an Ewido log, and a new HJT log that was run after the ewido scan.

We'll work from here, although im now pretty confident its a Spyware Quake infection.
