Hi, I keep getting an error message when I start my computer, it says that I am missing a file named bridge.dll which I deleted after Ad-aware 6 said it couldn't quarantine and remove it. It had also been on my Add/Remove Programs list, where I couldn't remove it.

I have run HijackThis.exe, and I've uploaded the log file here: http://www.intangibility.net/hijackthis.txt .

Please help me, I'm not sure what to do.

Goto start, run, type 'notepad'

paste this:

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"RunDLL"=-

into your notepad. Choose 'save as' under 'file' in notepad.

a window will pop up

Now name the file bridge.reg and choose 'save as type' = 'all files' (second drop down menu on pop up just underneat file name). Encoding (third drop down menu) should be left at 'ANSI.' Save the file to your desktop.

Now you should be able to close out notepad. Double click the file you created and when it asks if you want to add the value to your registry hit, agree that you do. Reboot and see if it pops up again.

It worked! Thanks so much TKS, you have no idea how grateful I am!

TKS good work I like that fix

I was getting this message and I deleted the registry entry that tries to load the bridge.dll file and now I don't receive the message.
My internet explorer stops responding when I start it and in the processes it shows 2 instances of internet explorer not responding when only one window is open. Here is my hijackthis.log file. I'm not sure what to remove.

IT WORKED!! thank you so much!

I'm having a similar problem but its not the bridge.dll. I have been trying to clean up a downloader trojan all day, had to reboot in safe mode, run a scan and remove some files.

Now when I reboot I get 12 or so windows saying rundll files are missing. One example is w001d1d2.dll this file among several others are missing.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi paranoia5,

First of all- welcome to Daniweb.

We ask that members not tag their questions on to a thread previously started by another member (regardless of how similar your problem might seem). Not only does it divert the focus of the thread away from the original poster's problem, but it also makes it less likely that you yourself will get the individual attention that you need.

Please start your own thread and post your question there. When you do, please try to give us as much specific info as possible regarding the problem (exact error messages, system specs, etc.).

For a full description of our posting guidelines and general rules of conduct, please see this page:
