Please review my HJ File

[ep2002]

Something keeps seizing my computer & I don't know if someone is trying to hack in or what. I have to reboot each time & someone set up my new wireless router & it worked when he set it up, but now it's not, so I'm going straight thru the cable modem now :(

We defraged & I've run every program & Anti Vir is up-to-date & scans & updates daily.

Hmm.. There are two files that could be normal or could be malware. So i want you to scan them.
C:\Program Files\RSI Saver\nhc.exe(Don't know what RSI saver is, couldn't find and info on it.)

To scan these go to here and upload them.
Post the results here when the scans are done.

Also run a ewdio scan and post the log here.

Hi there,

LOL, ewido scared me b/c I kept seeing AVG on the DLs page & haven't used that program in years since I use a much better program now. I didn't realize they bought ewido out b/c if memory serves me, it was an anti virus program b4.

RSI Saver isn't a problem. It's a little program that helps you to prevent carpel tunnel syndrome etc. It tells you to move around & do little exercises :) I can tell you where to get it if you want it, it's only found on one holistic health site here in the Toronto area.

As for the scan from ewido, it said it found nothing & there is no report. Is that right?

I have Zone Alarm & I was behind a router until recently. I just moved & someone set up a new one for me the other day, but then it stopped working & I have to work, so I had to plug right into the modem.

Does you anti-virus have a firewall? If it does it would most likely pick up any/all hacking attempts. How often does the computer "seize up" and what does it do exactly. Try disconnnecting from the internet and see if it still seizes up.

Other than that your logs clean, but just incase could you change the name of hijackthis.exe to something different like hello.exe.(some malware hides it self from hijackthis.exe)

Post the new log after the name change and ill see what i can do.

Hi there,

Sorry for the delay, I didn't realize you had posted.

Ok, a few things...

1. I have no idea if Anti Vir has a firewall behind it, but I also have Zone Alarm & I finally got the new wireless router hooked up.

2. The computer is still acting up. It hangs, seizes up & it's clear something is hanging it, or grabbing all of the memory, b/c there are times I click on my task bar to have it pop up & the computer won't let it. I have to exit out of something in order to get it to work.

3. I also had problems with FF.

www.guru.com is a site I've been using for almost 2 years. Their programmers started changing things about a week ago & bamm, I was having problems.

The guy told me to delete my guru cache & that didn't help, then he asked me to delete my guru cookie & bamm, now I can't log in.

Others with FF can log in, I can't.

I even upgraded 2 versions of FF, rebooted several times & I still can't log in & I can log in via IE & Opera.

4. I also had problems with Yahoo's newest IMing version. I had to uninstall & reinstall today b/c it kept crashing.

There are times when I can't even work & it takes a long time for TB to send an e-mail.

HELP :(

Here's the new Hello file :) although even after I renamded it, I still see the word HJ This there, but when I click on "rename", it only shows Hello.exe

The log is clean, however i noticed a few things while checking it out. You have a long list of start up processes and a large list on running processes as well. You said you had to exit out of a program once to see the toolbar, that might indicate you dont have enough memory to be running all the things you do. Could you give me the size of your hard drive and your memory.

Getting back to the hacking theory. If this is a hacking attempt it would probably be a live person that chose to hack YOU personally. THe hacking possibility though is very low and im sure he/she would have a purpose of hacking you other than just slowing you computer down.

You said you could no longer log into guru.com with ff. Well at the top of ff go to tools>options. When that menu pops up go to the privacy tab. Then click on exceptions and make sure guru.com or www.guru.com are not in there and being blocked.

Also have you run a scan with ewido/AVG since this problem started? if you haven't, then run one and post the log here.

One last thing i want to check is your Rootkits. So go here and download rookit hook analyzer. ONce dowloaded install and run. Click analyze and then check the box that says show only hook processes. Then hit export and it sould come up with a save box. Save the txt file in your documents and then post the contents of it here.

This info will help us figure out whats wrong.
