Ok here goes:
When I load my windows XP, the error message "The instruction at "0x7c9105f8" referenced memory at "000000010" could not be read". The error message comes up twice, and if I click cancel it takes a little while but the normal computer loads. Also of note is the fact that the screen occasionally switches to the classic windows theme and then back to the normal XP theme. I mention this because in the following website it pretty much describes my problem perfectly although the suggested answers do not solve my problem:

As mentioned, I've tried without success.
When I examine my event viewer, under system I come up with Error 7032:
The Service Control Manager tried to take a corrective action (Restart the service) after the unexpected termination of the Windows Management Instrumentation service, but this action failed with the following error:
An instance of the service is already running.
My main beef is that the sound is not working, at all. I can hear the windows intro and exit jingle but no other sounds are available (ie itunes, streaming media, etc). Suggestions???
