Hey folks:
Any ideas why i cant get my screensaver to work normally? It will work when i rightclick properties screensaver and preview, but no matter what time i set, and no matter how still the mouse is, the screensaver never comes on.
Im running windows XP PRO.

It sounds like you may have something running behind the scenes. Lets see what you've got:
Go to Run and type MSINFO32
On the left choose Software Enviroment, then Startup Programs. Copy/paste the list here.

MCAgentExe: From McAfee VirusScan On-line. The Agent is a red M icon that appears in the Windows system tray or Notification Area (if you're running Windows XP). If you don't see the agent icon, VirusScan Online may not be installed. Up to you
MCUpdateExe: From McAfee VirusScan On-line. Automatically updates your virus definitions. Leave enabled unless you regularly update these definitions. Up to you
MPFTray: McAfee Personal Firewall. Keep
MSKAGENTEXE: Part of McAfee Spamkiller. Up to you
MSKDetectorExe: Part of McAfee Spamkiller. Up to you
McAfee Guardian: McAfee's QuickClean, an offline version of the one in their online Clinic. Normally run offline and not needed. Incidentally, incorporates more cleanup programs than the likes of WinOptimizer and System Mechanic. Not needed
Microsoft Office: Resource hog that launches common MS Office components to help speed up the launch of Office programs. Some users claim there's no difference with or without it but it isn't required anyway. Not needed
Microsoft Works Update Detection: Checks for updates to MS Works. Not needed
MsnMsgr: MSN Messenger utility. If you don't use MSN Messenger, this can be annoying. Available via Start -> Programs. Go to MS Messenger > Tools > Options > Preferences and uncheck "Run this program when Windows starts". Not needed
NvCplDaemon rundll32.exe: Intializes the clock and memory settings on nVidia based graphics cards. Enable if you overclock your card. Up to you
NvMediaCenter rundll32.exe: System Tray icon used to manage settings for nVidia based graphics cards. May be required for some 3D applications to recognize your card correctly - such as the game "Everquest". Otherwise, settings can be changed manually via Display Properties. Up to you
Quicken Startup: Quicken option to load DLLs at startup. Not needed
TkBellExe: Application Scheduler installed along with RealOne Player. Once installed, it runs independently of RealOne Player. See here for more information, including how to disable it

tgcmd: This part ensures the software is installed correctly (similar to an installation wizard) as reported by Cox. Regarded as spyware by some as it has the ability to retrieve user information. Whether it does so depends upon the provider. "tgcmdprovidersbc" is for SBC Yahoo DSL

Go to Start | Run, and type MSCONFIG, startup tab. Uncheck the ones you don't want, apply and restart.
