To download Thunderbird extensions, you are required to right-click the Download Now button, and select the "Save Link As..." option from the resulting context menu.

My problem is that my IE7 context menu does not have a "Save Link As..." option. Instead it shows a "Save Background As..." option, which is the result you get if you right-click on a piece of IE7 real estate other than the Download Now button. It is as if IE7 is not recognising that it is a button that is being clicked on. The button itself is being highlighted correctly when I click on it.

This PC is running Windows Vista Business, and I also have another running Windows XP Pro, which is showing the same symptom! Both PCs are fully patched.

As a test, I tried Firefox 3 instead, and the context menu for it works properly.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Regards...
