I have a dell Inspiron 1000 that I recently installed 1 gig of RAM to. After installing the new memory it loaded perfectly fine twice. After shutting it down and restarting again it said that I need to press <F2> for setup or <F12> for one time boot menu. If i press either one of these options the computer doesnt do anything further. If I press Esc from the first menu screen it takes me to the systems information ( what size processor, amount of ram, etc..) then it says the same press <F2> for setup or <F12> for one time boot menu. Dell says that they can only help me by sending it back to non-warranty repairs... any other suggestions????

well if I looked up the right computer, you can only have a max of 512MB on the computer. so put the original RAM back in and see if it boots now, if it does exchange the 1GB RAM for 512MB
