Its a fairly new sony, it had a problem before, it would restart after about two to three minutes into windows. It eventually fried the mother board. which was replaced with a new one. Now it is having the same problem. But now it restarts after about 30 seconds. it restarts right when the windows xp starts to load. So I never even get into windows. Have anyone ever had this problem before? any suggestions with my problems.

Sony PCV RS420 , similar problem. Machine is shutting off randomly. . . reformatted the hard drive and reinstalled operating system, system worked fine for about three months and then began doing the same thing.
Had a tech look at it, he discovered the CMOS battery was going dead, replaced it and it worked again for about three months.

Now it won't start, the hard drive just spins. . . what did you eventually do?
