Hi I am not sure if I have posted in the right forum but I hope you can help.

For the last few days I have been having issues with my PC shutting itself down whilst Im using it.

I originally thought it might be the graphics card as it tended to happen whilst playing World of Warcraft or using VLC Media Player /Windows Media Player.

However it is now happening intermittantly when no programs are running.

It doesnt blue screen or produce an error message, I have tried doing a back up and restore in safe mode, which didnt help, it seemed to be worse then.

Now when it does turn off, it doesnt always come back on, it can take up to 5 or 6 attempts to get it to power up, and then theres the challenge of having it stay on.

I have just run Hijack This - but the results are alien to me.

Please help :)

Hi I could be wrong but It seems to me that it maybe an overheating problem.The fach that it does it playing your game would push the processor anf if overheatinfg would crash.Maybe thats the reason why it wont switch on immediately.Some machines have a function that wont allow startup until the temp drops.Check your fans are all working .Hope this helps

Try this:
1. Install the latest CCCleaner from Piriform.
2. Use its feature that can disable your system startup items, especially those which you do not use most of the time.
3. Reboot.

It's purely a trial-and-error approach, but I guess there's no harm in giving it a try...
