Does anybody know how to program a printer?
Specifically, Canon Pixma printers?

most printers have means in the 'properties' to do some programming (goto control panel and then printers and then choose yours and then properties.)
These properties are actually inside a printer driver software. sometimes using a differetn driver fromt he same manufacturer may (and ony may ) give more facilities.
If not then reprogramming a printer driver is a real software programmers job.
Sometimes some programs like word can give 'programming' hints like changing margins etc;

It is a programer that I need, someone who knows how a small bit of code is written for a program to control the printhead. Given the Canon Programing Manuals with the codes in it.
