After running Norton 360 and deleting a virus, I can no longer launch programs without choosing the program from the program chooser box. This happens from the Quicklauch, Start Menu or shortcuts. Any idea if I am missing a file or how to replace it?

The same was the problem with me too. Norton requires regular updates and you have to enable all the features to have it fully functional. I just updates the Norton files and repaired XP, the OS that I'm currently using and this did the trick for me. Now, it's working fine, just give it a try and see if it works for you.
