Suggestions

The following are not necessarily spyware/malware, but we suggest you place a check mark next to the following entries, as these programs may be taking up system resources.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] \"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe\" -osboot
(Description: RealPlayer scheduler. Completely unnecessary. Removing this entry will free up a small amount of system resources.)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_05\bin\jusched.exe
(Description: Sun Java update scheduler. Checks for updates. Not necessary. Removing this entry will free up a small amount of system resources.)

1) Press the "Fix checked" button. Then close HijackThis.

2) Then reboot your computer into safe mode. (instructions)

3) Remove all files from your C:\WINDOWS\TEMP folder and your C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\(your username)\LOCAL SETTINGS\Temp\ folder. (Do NOT delete the folders themselves). PLEASE NOTE: The local settings folder is a hidden folder.

4) Empty your recycle bin.

5) Run Windows Update and install all critical updates.

6) Make sure your anti-virus program is up to date with the latest patches. If you do not have an anti-virus program, download and install AVG Personal Edition Anti-Virus, which is free.

7) Reboot one last time.

Thanks for the help....
I hope it works

i just checked and SVCHOST.exe is still using alot of my cpu and is using more memory then any other process 41,388K, the next highest two are explorer.exe 33,068k and iexplorer.exe 30,056k.

Is that ok? or do you think something is still wrong?

Thanks again.

Look back up to my last post, I added some stuff. You have more things starting up at startup, than I think I have on my hard drive....lol. As for those two processes being pigs, that is what they do, and I think MacAfee is to blame for most of it.

what do you suggest I disable?

thanks... :-)

How many icons do you have in the lower right hand corner? It is your computer, so you should know what programs that you need to run, and don't need to run, at startup. MacAfee has 11 things starting up, at startup, that is probably your biggest problem.

As a comparison between yours and my computer, I have 20 items starting, while you have I stopped at 50...lol.

I'll tell you the truth I think that there is something wrong with my explorer.exe... it doesnt always show everything that should be there....

If I endtask explorer.exe and the restart it via the newtask function on the applications tab it shows me what I should be seeing.... I sometimes need to do this 2-3 times before I get everything...

Why do you think that is, and am I screwing my computer up by doing that>?

lets start by clearing off some of them programs from starting first, so we can eliminate them from affecting everything.

unwanted programs are running at the startup, cleanup those programs such real updated, winamp agent, jusched, ctfmon, msoffice, acrotray, dont let any other program run at the startup except , ur antivirus and system files
