Here is the problem and it does seem like some sort of setting but not sure.

When I copy from a word doc and click the left side of the mouse and drag and highlight the text and then lift up the left side of the mouse the highlight doesnt stay on and I have to try and highlight a few times before I can click copy.

I noticed that it only starts doing that after about 10 sucessful highlight and copies then has a hard time highlighting.

From this, and your other post about explorer moving back multiple pages with a single click, I think your mouse button is generating multiple click events. It is probably a hardware problem.
