If you want to provide DHCP leases to remote clients where you have routers inbetween the DHCP server and DHCP clients, you will need to configure the DHCP Relay Agent on the interface of the router that is on the same subnet as the clients.
The DHCP Relay Agent will take the DHCP Broadcast packets from that subnet, and send them directly to the DHCP server as unicast packets.
