My notebook running vista runs for weeks perfectly. Only fails to startup when it is powered down or restarted. Sometime it will start back up. Occasionally, lights come on, fan starts for about 5 seconds and stops.The computer still has power because the volume and other buttons will light when touched. If i continue to press the power button to power off and and power on it will eventually start up and run weeks again. I have been staying on ac power or battery with no probems. I have cleaned the inside and reseated everything.
Any ideas? I need to restart for updates to get installed.

I know nothing about the NV52, but this sounds like a power config issue, go to the control panal, click power options, and the click change what the power buttons do. please tell me what it says under there. otherwise, I'd suspect a motherboard problem and take it to get looked at.
