I'm really not sure whether this should be here or in the net-sharing part but as it does share alright, I'll stick it here.

Recently we got a router and connected it to our hub + 2 computers + ps2. Now the host computer gets a good internet speed on both AOL + IExplorer, the ps2 gets a good speed but mine only gets a good speed on the AOL browser. I can't understand why. I've been tweaking options in internet explorer for ages now and can't get it to work.

The problem isn't that nothing loads, because if you're prepared to wait long enough, they do, but it takes at least 5 full minutes. sometimes longer. The msn.com page spends about 15mins loading and then errors or says it cannot display. Does anyone know is this an IExplorer problem or a networking problem. To me it sounds like an IExplorer problem. You may be wondering what the problem is, as long as I can surf one way or another. But unless IExplorer works properly, nothing except things that run on AOL will work. MSN messenger won't work, p2p programs won't work, the lot.

The DSL modem is a Zoom X5 and the settings are as follows...

IP : 10.0.0.10
Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0
Default gateway : 10.0.0.2

Preferred DNS : 10.0.0.2

We're both running XP and the problem is only on my computer. If the specification for the X5 would help, its here.

Any help would be appreciated
