was playing morrowind last night (yeah yeah i know it's old but i still like it) and the pc was working fine, shut it down and goto bed like i usually do @ 2am, but when i go to boot up again @ 8am all i got on the screen is a blinking _

tried booting from my windows cd, and it sits on "checking system config" for a few hours b4 i get bored and restart again. havent had any powerspikes lately, and most of the internals are new within the last 3 months (yes i flashed the cmos).

trying atm unsuccessfuly to boot from hiren bootcd, any input welcome..

Probably the hard disk either died or got its format zxnrbled.

Check your CMOS battery first.
