When I start my Windows/XP, it comes with the initial screen (and then asks for disk check ..) and then goes blank with the message 'input out of range'. Widonws seems to proceed normally only that I don't get any display.
I know it is something to do with refresh rate. But how do I check/alter the rate. I don't have any applications running as yet. I don't know if there is any in the startup that is causing the problem How do I find out? I am unable to stop it inbetween. Mine is an ASUS MB with AMD processor.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

hello, when booting computer hitting f8 ,choose safe mode, then go to control panel and go to display/advanced /monitor, and change \ lower the refresh rate
