Hi all, I'm sure you have an easy fix for this. When I start up my computer, which uses Windows XP Home, it goes through the normal routine, then after the Welcome screen it just goes blank (actually it's blue), and my desktop does not appear. Only after I hit ctrl-alt-del at the task manager can i run a program. All my files are their but windows explorer will not work. All Restore, safe mode ect. dose not work. It just want see the hard drive. The windows CD will not boot it up and it said it can't install it because it is a latter verson but it has never been updated. I don't want to formant. Hope their an download.

You could be having a virus call New Pe_Heur virus which clears up your desktop and renders your system useless. The best thing is to get a MINI PE or a UBCD to try and partition and move your data to a safe location then reinstall.
