i turn on my computer and the desktop(icons) are there and then are not.this goes on until i turn off computer. when i go to check processes etc.. i notice that it is explorer.exe that come and goes. happened yesterday then was fine. today i started computer and was ok. restarted and same problem all over. please help:'(

Well its may be a spyware or malicious activity which causing windows shell (explorer.exe) to stop. Try to scan with appropriate software to detect the infection.

I found a fix from microsoft for explorer.exe but it was applied on only Windows 2000 here its:
