open up a console and cd to the dir where the rpm is (you MUST be root) type [B]rpm –Uvh packagename[/B] replace packagename with the name of the rpm of course - command IS case-sensitive

nearly all ATI cards can be overlcoked using ATITOOL but dont overclock unless you are sure you can add extracooling to it or else it will melt

the cpu is too slow. Under 600mhz barely runs xp. Turn off the wallpaper (plain color) - also turn off the welcome screen and use the old style win2k theme - this should save cpu power

depends if the app takes advantage if it. E,g apps which were made before Core Duo will only see one crummy 2.5ghz cpu but if there are designed to take advantage if it then there is huge increase in performance compared to a standard cpu

You need to be running an ASP.NET web server to see the page properlyy. Either IIS (noy in xp home) or Abyss Web Server X1(free)

your vista problem. Do you mean booting from the cd? Go into the BIOS and make shure CD is first (on some pcs you can hit f12 and choose a one-off boot device)

its almost impossible to replace a laptop fan yourself and dismantling a laptop is very hard (well, not as hard as getting it all back together again!) i got a thinkpad. It does the same thing

as soon as the PC starts up hammer f8 repeatedly until you get to a screen with options. Choose safe mode then "Administrator" at the login screen. Then when logged in as the superadministrator, remove the password

its not the speakers that matter. its your soundcard. Do you know what soundcard you have? (chances are that its built into your motherboard) - you will need to find a vista compatible driver for it or MAYBE get a BIOS update (this did the trick for my dell)

i got a d5150 and it has similar problems - cant find the cd (although hdd is ok) - turned out to be loose connection and crap wires maybe the BIOS battery has died?

sounds like the PSU yeah - maybe your draining too much power from it? i only got a 200w psu and then i installed a new graphics card and it had a similar problem (the card was using all the juice)
