set the same ip range in both network (in switch & router )and turn off your dhcp in router & connect your router &switch via cable (switch Ethernet port to router Ethernet port)
you connecting via cross rj-45 cable (xbox to pc) (may be cable is not work)
no there are not any converter for that and not required upgrade windows to 2008. all app's work fine with ipv6 you need to install ipv6 protocol
