howdy all,

I'm working on some old apps that require the 16 bit support on MS Visual C++ 1.52.

I was told it's been discontinued therefore it's ok to get a copy from someone. If this is true, I would appreciate if anyone could point out a place to download it.

no, it's not OK to copy it from someone if it's been discontinued.
You'll just have to look harder or use another product.
