hi I would like to know if it is possible to display the line number in a
JTextArea? I design an editor using NB ide and I'd like to offer the same features
like Text Editor that show the number of EACH line at the
left side of the text. thanks.

You would want the line numbers to be a separate component along the side of the page, not part of the text in your JTextArea.
