I am familiar with C and C++ only.. i need to make a program on how to search from my hard disk..can any one help..?

A web crawler and a program to searcb your hard disk are two different things.

Well i know these two are different but my mentor asked me to do this. She wants me to make a crawler or can be web spider (simple) to get the information from hard disk or can you tell me how to make it for searching on a web site or a page..I will try solving then the problem. I hope you get me now?

by searching i mean collecting data from the site in methodical and automated manner.
