philo: your above statement makes no sense. if you want to use a DB, learn to work with JDBC, Hibernate, Mybatis, ...
if you want to create a DB in java: don't.

You are creating some confusion here. Please explain in a LOT more detail what you want to do. Right now it sounds like "I want to develop a full-size commercial database application in Java and I don't know anything about programming" - in which case you should allow at least 6 months learning before you see any useful results, maybe a.year.
