controlling serial communications using vc++

i am new to vc++.please tell me how to control serial communication using vc++ in windows environment.

dear all,
I am executing a project which neceesiates the use of vc++ to control the serial port comm .Pl guide how to go about it?which is the class to be used?links and books are most welcome.Needless to say I am new to vc++.I am aware that ms comm in vb is used for serial comm but what is its equivalent in vc++?
