we are planning to implement a software, which can read the information about all the Nodes connected in its newtwork, as soon as this software is installed in networked PC.
This could be done with C/C++ system level programming.
But we are thinking to do it in Java, J2EE.
can anybody suggest the way of approach for this...????
we are thinking about Jboss server at present, any other server which can perform backeing processing faster than JBOss server.
Backend processing in my view is: reading its network nodes information like( router is failed, switch is faulty, PC1 is down, interface2 is faluty, server1 is faulty .. this info will be updated in DB automatically,,,,,,,,,,,, then this DB info shoudl be dispalyed to user who logged in ... this part can be done with any web server like tomcat...)
Please let me know, different kinds of approches.. and you effort is greatly apprecitated in this manner..
