I'm creating a web page for my friend which is a photographer and we would like something really cool like this

Can I do something like this in js?? Any advices??
We would like to avoid flash if possible

I am not sure if you can do the same effects with javascript, but you can do similar thing (probably less effects) but the idea might be possible :D I am curious if you would be able to do it :)

Javascript mouse followers / mouse trails were considered cool - in 1999.
It's 2010 according to my calendar...
