how to update a password in mysql using procedure

hello , can any one tell me how can i update a password using procedure in mysql , if the oldpassword is same other wise get any mgs by the procedure . plssssssssss help me out

Can you give an example of what you want to do (required steps for example) ?

i will send a old password and new password in my procedure , if my old password is same than update the password with new one and just give me notification about error or success.

You want return status so I would suggest you to create function in mysql
