My tecra 8100 will not start up I`ve replaced the hard drive and memory with one that was woking before. I could hear the fan

What OS was running? Do you get any error messages? I'm assuming a 'tecra' is a laptop.. ?

Sorry about friday`s mishap. I was intransit when I posted my problem it was not my intention to leave the way I did. Sorry.
My tecra 8100 is a laptop, running windows xp .Everything was working ok the it started to freeze up during boot up then it stop booting up all together, the harddrive was replaced then the memory but that did not correct the problem.
What could be my problem I really need yor help.
