I realize any of Adobe's products are *capable*, however, I'm interested in plug-ins and/or other products that could simplify the process.

Well, the Adobe products are very capable, and, to my knowledge, there are not very many other programs that can do that any simpler than the Adobe products, other than, ofcourse, Rhinoceros and Flamingo.
