Hi there,

I have a Toshiba Tecra 8200 P111 laptop computer which is almost 7 years old. Recently I have had yellow blotches on my screen and black vertical lines againgst the white background on the DVD playback. I have just tested an external monitor which seems to have the same problems. The problems seem to lessen whenever I turn down the graphics accellerator to about half setting but the video playback is a bit jerky when half setting is applied. I suspect I have a faulty graphics card?It may be because it's an old machine and I'm not sure if these old graphics cards can be upgraded on the Tecra 8200 could anyone advise please?,

Thanks jazzpianoman01

it is almost impossible to upgrade a laptop (other than ram and HDD). with a laptop that old i would suggest getting a new one. the graphics card is about to burn out and once that happens it will cost more to fix than it's worth. so take the money that it would cost to fix it and get a newer one.
