I currently have a Dell XPS Gen 3 that didn't come with SATA capability so I needed to add a SATA PCI card. I chose a SIIG 4 port SATA controller that is working fine. I am using my original hard drive still as my main "c" drive.

When I installed only one of the new SATA drives I purchased everything worked fine. Once I installed the second drive every time I booted my computer I got the error message during boot "primary drive 1 not found." Once I strike F1 it allows my computer to start fine, the only problem is this is severely slowing down the startup of my computer.

Any help that you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Mark.

go into the bios and look at the order of bootup

make sure your primary hdd is first
