I am receiving the error message:

"SYSTEM ERROR!
your computer was infected by unknown trojan.
it's dangerous for your system (critical files can be lost)!

click OK to download the antispyware program to clean your system! (Recommended)"

It pops up almost every time I go into windows explorer.

I am looking at Smitfraudfix right now. But is that reliable? It seems kind of odd. I'll probably try it out though, and get back to you.

I saw a post with a similar problem but the solution didn't work for me. I really hope someone can help me. Thanks!

• You must download it to and run it from your Desktop
• Physically disconnect from the internet.
• Now STOP all your monitoring programs (Antivirus/Antispyware, Guards and Shields) as they could easily interfere with ComboFix.
• Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
• When finished, it will produce a log. Please save that log to post in your next reply along with a fresh HJT log
• Re-enable all the programs that were disabled during the running of ComboFix..

Note:
Do not mouse-click combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.

I ended up using SmitFraudFix. And it worked perfect.
The error message is gone. But at that point I was way tired and went to bed so I didn't get a chance to post back on here -_- .. Anything I should follow up on though?

I ended up using SmitFraudFix. And it worked perfect.
The error message is gone. But at that point I was way tired and went to bed so I didn't get a chance to post back on here -_- .. Anything I should follow up on though?

Don't need to do anything further, really. You should just make sure you have good defenses (Something let your problem through!), updated windows and your antivirus, antispyware, and firewall programs. What defenses do you have?
