im not new here, i have posted in the past under the username foxy xx but for some reason i cannot get access so i had to re register lol
ok so heres my problem...
whilst using the pc the other day my firewall alerted me of a program i didnt recognise trying to access the internet.. i denied access, googled and found that it was a trojan which norton failed to detect.. i ran adaware which found several files and apparently cleaned them. however the next day i had 2 fake windows security icons on my desktop and 2 icons in the taskbar which display a ballon saying that windows has detected a spyware infection or files are currently being copied without authorisation, if i try to get rid of them i get pop ups urging me to purchase spyware removal software.
i also get random pop ups whilst surfing the net despite pop up blocker being turned on (this has worked perfectly until now) my connection is at a crawl as my pc keeps trying to dowload more trojans and is under constant attack from a remote system
i have also used spybot s&d to try to eradicate these probs
having lost all faith in norton i have uninstalled it and am now using a trial version of nod32 antivirus which is stopping the attacks and preventing further downloads but i still cant get rid of the files causing the problem
