shield with red x and blue question mark

My task bar has a red x and blue question mark on it. I have tried everything to get rid of it, but just can't. I ran two different spyware removers (spybot search and destroy and ad aware) I googled the problem and downloaded 2 different dos programs that were supposed to fix it, but nothing did it. I did all this in safe mode with system restore disabled because that's what worked for everything else. the shield even appears in safe mode in the taskbar when nothing else does. I ran hijack this and this is my log. Thanks for your help.

Hi and welcome to the Daniweb forums :).

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Anti-Malware_d5756.html) to your desktop.

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure to checkmark the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad.
* Post the log back here.

Make sure that you restart the computer.

Has your Norton expired? If so, I would recommend using Spy Sweeper w/ AV and AS or PC Tools Internet Security. Install them and then run the scan in safe mode. I think your infection has come through your use of Facebook and has infected your registry, so run CCleaner registry tool after the scan.
