Some questions about a redirecting virus

(sorry, this might be long but please read-I'm afraid something bad will happen to my accounts)
Hi,
I opened up firefox today, and first thing my homepage has a redirecting error and firefox gave out this message:

''The browser has stopped trying to retrieve the requested item. The site is redirecting the request in a way that will never complete.

* Have you disabled or blocked cookies required by this site?
* NOTE: If accepting the site's cookies does not resolve the problem, it is likely a server configuration issue and not your computer.''

So I thought it was probably a problem on some server somewhere else.But the I went to Yahoo search and clicked on a link and it redirected me to some other website. It happened a few times more but then later it stopped. I went to google(not the firefox google homepage one) and same thing happened. I have windows XP.

I am desperate to know:
1.Is this virus harmful(like eg. can it hack into my accounts?)
2. How can I get rid of it?(here is my hijackthis log)

I have found out that instead of go.google.com as the redirecting page it is now copy-book.com...

Pls do the following:

1. - Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?part=dl-10804572&subj=dl&tag=button) to your desktop.

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure to checkmark the Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad.
* Post the log back here.

Make sure that you restart the computer.
