Going in Circles, Getting Worse, Please Help - w/ HiJackThis Log

Thanks to anyone in advance who might be able to help... computer is very slow, programs are slow. Also, when I open mail and other programs, I get this weird flash effect every couple of seconds.

On Friday of last week I began the process of taking the necessary steps listed in the forum before I ask for help. Outlook couldn't dfind my send/receive function, which tipped me off. It's now Wednesday and I'm going in circles. With every new step I take to identify, clean, and remove a number of Trojans, it's just getting worse.

Now here's the weird part...

Since Friday, on a daily/nightly basis I've removed a lot of rarely used programs, ran either MalwareBytes, SpyBot, TrendMicro, AVG, Adaware, ATF Cleaner, Windows Defender, Adaware, Trojan Remover, and/or Norton... most in Safe Mode too. Yesterday, after running all of those since Friday, I ran Kaspersky online scanner and it identified upward of 20 Trojans in my system, some of which were found in an old mail program I have used since 2004 in various dbx files.

Afterward, I tracked down a program called SuperAntiSpyware, which many online (after doing some research) said was legit... which I was wary of anyway... but it found and removed a number of threats. But today I noticed that my "tabbed browsing" tabs are now showing this... tbr:res?id=tabs&rep=1... and I get the sense that I'm just as infected as when I started.

I've been holding off on the HiJackThis part to see if I could fix them myself, but I'm drained at this point. Adaim, thanks in advance.

Hi Osterman and welcome to daniweb.
First of all SuperAntispyware is a good program so no worries for you there.
Couple things you need to do, TURN off Spybot TeaTimer because it can interfere with fixes done also turn off AdAware Service as it can also interfere.
To turn off TeaTimer do the following;
Open Spybot, choose Advanced Mode. Then Tools, Resident. When that opens remove the check mark from TeaTimer. Close the program.
Next go to Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services.
When Services opens scroll to Lavasoft Ad-Aware Service (aawservice) or aawservice.exe
Double Click to open it's Properties. First go to the bottom and click the Stop button to stop the service. Once it is stopped then right there in the middle you will see Start up Type. Change that to disabled. Ok your way out. Next go to Start, Run and type msconfig.
When that opens click the Start Up tab and take the check marks out of SUPERAntiSpyware and TrojanScanner. Click ok.
Reboot the system.
Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBA-M) and run a Full System Scan with it. When it completes please have it Remove All that is found.
Reboot the computer.
Then update your Norton Program and do a full system scan with it and allow it to remove or quarantine all that it finds.
Then do a Full System scan with HJT. Post back here with the NEW HJT log and the MBA-M log.

Hi Judy, thanks very much. Sorry for the delay. Each scan takes quite a while and I'm also doing quite a bit of work on this machine.

There were still two Hacktool files Norton couldn't remove, plus I still have the weird issue with new browser tabs in EI. Each one still comes still back opens with this... tbr:res?id=tabs&rep=1

Hi everyone,

I'm still dealing with the same issue a week later and just wondering what I did wrong? This is the only forum I've asked for help in and look forward to helping someone in the future. Any help would be much appreciated. When scanning using a variety of utilities, I've had to schedule a significant amount of time to actually do it. I know that might be hampering me. Sorry for any delays.

Ok, first thing is try disabling Add-Ons to Internet Explorer to see if this is possibly the cause. To do this do the following:
Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).
If your browser appears to be working properly in Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) mode, continue with the following steps to help identify which add-on may be causing the problems.
If the problem disappears then you will know if it is one of the Add-Ons causing the problem.
Note: The Manage Add-ons option under Tools is disabled in No Add-ons mode so you must go to Internet Options, Programs, Manage add-ons to manually enable/disable add-ons.
Select an add-on in the Name list, and then click Disable.
Click OK, OK again, OK again and then close IE.
Restart IE normally and see if your problem is resolved.

1. If it is, you should uninstall the specific add-on via Control Panel’s Add/Remove Programs or the applications own uninstaller.
2. If the problem persists, you will need to repeat steps 1-3 until you have identified the specific add-on causing the problem.
Tip: Disable several add-on’s at once to speed up your process of elimination.
Try this and see if it works. If not report back and we can try something else.

Save this text as Fix.reg. Make sure the "Save as type:" is "All Files (*.*)" and save it to your desktop.

It is not because of any viruses or trojan.
when you open any tab,it goes to tab welcome page.there is a check box to disable this feature.Once you disable this,it will normally work as it should go to home page - yemmem
