Take a look at this page about the things that this company manufactures.http://www.ami.com/products/ You aren't going to see these listed in Programs. Check your Device Manager and see if there are any drivers from AMI.

Are you absolutely certain that you have nothing on the computer with American Megatrends software? PCI controllers, BIOS, Keyboard Controller, Data Storage, USB Drivers & Firmware for the mobile phone, RAID Controllers? These a legitimate files, not something which would or should install without all ready being on the computer.

Other than the problems you have noted what else is going on and how long? Not sure what you mean by "AVG suppressed" and Spybot shows as all ready being on your system so you shouldn't have to download it again. AVG doesn't show on the log as your anti-virus …

What anti-virus program told you this? Sounds like an overheating problem to me also but frankly, I would avoid the snow on the laptop. Here is a free program to test the temperature of the laptop http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php

Boot to Safe mode and see if you can locate this Steam and stop it from auto starting. Sounds like it may be too much for your machine.
