My problems first started on my son's laptop. Backed up his game saves and such to our other pc via external drive enclosure. Now the desktop pc is infected with something. And just today while updating database/scanning with MBAM on that one, I was on MY laptop and recieved a network request that I mistakenly allowed (with Comodo) thinking it was a request from my new internet that I've switched to in the past few days as well. Argh! I'd really appreciate any help. So my laptop first. The first MBAM scan on my laptop found 2 malware. (After reboot, MBAM scanned clean) And right after clean reboot scan I did a HiJack this scan. I will include the first MBAM log and the HiJackThis log. Oh and SuperAntiSpyware didn't detect anything. Another note, on the desktop pc, I had been suspicious of a running process called FsUSBexservice.exe. (My son was playing on Steam on the desktop after his laptop stopped working. I believe he somehow managed to get the desktop infected as well.) I don't let him on my laptop. But I think I got something over the home network. Like I said I upgraded to cable internet 2 days ago. So here are the two logs from my laptop. Thanks again. Sorry if my post doesn't make much sense. I'm exhausted, paranoid, and frustrated, in safe mode, and my cursor keeps jumping around, either due to my being in safe mode with wireless mouse and touch pad competing, or it's a virus. :(

Sorry HeidiGiller, We seemed to have overlooked your request for assistance. If you are still having difficulty I will be happy to assist. I have a suggestion, which I hope will simplify things a bit, work on one computer at a time. I would suggest beginning with the desktop, leaving the laptop powered completely off and disconnected from the home network. Get the desktop 100% clean and then begin with the laptop. To clean computers of malware/infection it is really most helpful if you have an additional clean computer to work through in order to be able to move cleaning tools back and forth from the clean computer to the infected computer while keeping the infected computer off line until it gets to the point where it can more easily go back online to finish the clean up.

One more thing, HiJackThis is rarely used today, it gives such a small picture of what may be going on that very often a log can look clean even when a very serious infection is at work on the computer.
Today the scanner tool most used, especially on computers running Vista and Windows 7 is the DDS scanner which gives a much more in depth picture. It is also used most of the time today on XP computers too.

If you still want assitance, begin with the desktop and follow the steps given in our Read Me First Sticky
http://www.daniweb.com/hardware-and-software/microsoft-windows/viruses-spyware-and-other-nasties/threads/134865

Use all the tools and post back here with copy/pastes of all logs and we will begin to get that one cleaned up and move onto the laptop.

Again, I apologize for the delay.

I appreciate your response. I actually had pretty much given up on this thread. I just happened to check on it today (out of shear boredom) and low and behold there is a response. :)
So I decided to just bite the bullet and do a reinstall of the desktop pc. It was pretty full of old junk anyway. Probably better to just start fresh. I have an older hard drive in an external enclosure that I use for transferring the Safe/Clean files. And another 500gb drive that I had stuck in the desktop (along side it's 250gb original drive) to use as backup drive. I decided to just make the (bigger) 500gb the master, installed OS onto it and now I'll just use the infected drive as the backup/slave. After of course reformatting it. So it actually worked out for the best.
My laptop is supposed to be for school work (gone back to school, studying Networking) so that was my main concern. If MBAM found and successfully deleted the "PUP.Adware.Downloader", do you think I'm clean now? My laptop doesn't display any symptoms, and it wasn't a trojan so it didn't seem like a severe "infection". I also run Comodo Internet Security, it has found nothing. Again, same with SuperAntiSpyware. So do you think my laptop is clean? Thanks again for your response. And for bringing me up to speed regarding HJT and DDS.
~Heidi

Until I can see current full scan logs, done today with the fully updated programs I cannot say for sure that the laptop is clean.
One of the problems with the scan you did with MBA-M on the 30th of December is that it was done in Safe Mode.
Unless it is absolutely 100% impossible to get MBA-M to run in normal mode then safe mode can be used as a last resort, however, even in situations like that there is a small file that can be run to very often stop the running infection processes so that MBA-M can then immediately be updated and run a Full Scan in normal mode.
MBA-M does not scan all files in Safe Mode, even with a Full Scan, so there were some files that were not scanned in that Safe Mode scan.
Normal mode should generally always be used for all scans, unless it is impossible to do so.
While those two findings on that safe mode scans were "technically" not trojans they were downloaders, meaning they bring in other things.
While your Comodo Internet Security and SuperAntiSpyware scans have found nothing, that is not a 100% assurance that there is not something else on the computer, all three programs, Comodo, SAS and MBA-M look for different types of infections, two can be clean but a third may find something and if you have not updated MBA-M and run another Full Scan in Normal mode since that one done in Safe Mode then I honestly cannot say that you should be confident that the computer is clean.

Thanks for you information. I have done several scans since the one posted. I have run MBAM Full Scan in normal startup, and it reports nothing found. This is a good sign. I have also run DDS since first post. Here is the log from that (not the ATTACH.txt,) maybe it can tell you something? Thanks again for your help. Sorry for not responding more quickly, I've just started my spring classes, so time to scan/post is tight. Thanks again.

============= FINISH: 16:19:18.23 ===============

Really your log doesn't look bad. You have some definitely unnecessary auto starting programs that can consume unnecessary resources, all of these can be run manually when needed and that's my recommendation. A good program to control auto starts is the CodeStuff Starter
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/starter.html Download, install. Open it.
It is pretty straight forward. Three tabs, Startups this shows auto starting programs, Processes, pretty much the same as Task Manager, maybe a bit more in depth, and Services, Same as Windows Services. This one program gives you everything in one package.
Choose the Startups Tab and Choose the All Sections at the top. This will show you everything listed that can appear as an auto starting program on the computer. The ones with the check marks next to the are the ones that ARE auto starting every time you start the computer, some will start up when the computer starts and then, maybe turn off, some will continue to run all the time in the background.Of course some of those you do want to auto start and do want to run all the time, your Comodo for instance. But there are others that are not needed with to auto start or run all the time. The ones that startup and then stop, slow your start up time, the others slow startup time and consume resources. Here is a list of those that you can remove the check marks from the box next to the name, they definitely aren't needed, all can be run manually very easily:
Google Update
Thunderbird
UpdateLBPShortCut
UpdateP2GoShortCut
Adobe ARM
SunJavaUpdateSched

After you have removed the check marks, close the program and reboot the computer.

These two, I question, I don't know what they are, I found references for both when I searched but no info as to what they really are. I didn't find anything that said they were dangerous, but no identification either, perhaps you know what they are:
StartupFolder: C:\PROGRA~3\MICROS~1\Windows\STARTM~1\Programs\Startup\FANCYS~1.LNK - C:\Windows\Installer\{2B81872B-A054-48DA-BE3B-FA5C164C303A}\_C4A2FC3E3722966204FDD8.exe
StartupFolder: C:\PROGRA~3\MICROS~1\Windows\STARTM~1\Programs\Startup\SRSPRE~1.LNK - C:\Windows\Installer\{E5CF6B9C-3ABE-43C9-9413-AD5FFC98F049}\NewShortcut5_21C7B668029A47458B27645FE6E4A715.exe
DigiDo

Got it thanks so very much! I will "un"autostart those (accept Thunderbird, I prefer it running.) I used to use Spybot (aside from Windows tools) for seeing/modifying processes, startup, etc. The program you mentioned sounds good, I'll give it a whirl.
As for this: "StartupFolder: C:\PROGRA~3\MICROS~1\Windows\STARTM~1\Programs\Startup\FANCYS~1.LNK - C:\Windows\Installer\{2B81872B-A054-48DA-BE3B-FA5C164C303A}\_C4A2FC3E3722966204FDD8.exe"
I know exactly what this one is. It is Asus Fancy Start. Let's you customize the startup splash screen/sounds. I used to like it, but now it bugs me. No way to control volume of startup sound, and it's loud (when I start up late at night anyway). There's also no way to turn it off aside from completely disabling it. The other one, the DigiDo one. That is Time Warner's Roadrunner Cable internet installer/monitor. Not sure if it needs to stay, but it is slightly useful, as it lists some network details. Hope that info slightly helps you in some way. :) Thanks again sooo very much for your help. I believe you've even helped me with a different thread before. Can't remember, but I remember your name. Thank you JHolland! Thank you! For all the time you commit to this website and it's users. You are greatly appreciated. PS love your avatar!

Happy to help. Hope things are working well for you. Thanks also for identifying those start up which were unknown to my.
PhilliePhan gave me that avatar years ago at another forum and I like it also so I "carry it with me":)
