Cannot Run RegEdit

Hi guys - my box is probably suffering from something similar here - cant run regedit / cmd , programs shut down without reason, machine hungs and is really slow etc etc..

Run malware bytes and found a few files & registry items that were infected.

Run Hijack this afterwards and got:

Why do you want to run regedit?
We need to see the MBA-M logs also before making any suggestions. One reason the machine may be slow is the excessive number of running processes, 14 instances of Microsoft Visual Studio for one thing. Totally unnecessary. But I don't see your Avast program running. Why?

well running regedit and cmd should be possible, right? I just beleive that not being able to run them indicates some sort of malware being present, which is why I wanted to go to the registry in the first place.

I have no idea why Visual Studio creates this many instances. It was actually shut down when I run the test. Some sort of memory leak perhaps? This sort of thing also happens with svchost.exe.

I also need to mention that we had a major i-Frame infection on our websites just the other day, and the hacker(s) probably used my filezilla installation to retrieve the stored ftp passwords. I beleive whatever is in my system is hasnt been removed yet.

I have backed everything up, but after running avast, malwarebytes I am stuck - hence the thread.

Any suggestions?

svchost.exe is the Generic Host Process for Win32 Services so it is very normal to see multiple instances of it in task manager. DLLs are unable to launch themselves and require at least one executable program, i.e. svchost.exe, to bridge between the library process and the operating system. That doesn't mean of course that all you see may be "ok" but it is not uncommon to see multiple instances of it. Right this moment, for example, I have six of them showing in my task manager, and I know absolutely my system is clean.
Now for your last statement above...are we talking about a network here? If so you should be speaking to your IT person about these problems.

The problem is on my personal laptop. The i-Frame worm was probably a result of some malware being present on this laptop.

Based on the HijackThis file - do you see anything suspicious?
