Thanks!

Good, now do the following:
Please download ComboFix by sUBs from

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/combofix

Please note that the BleepingComputer.com download link will expire in 10 minutes after you click it so if you don’t click within ten minutes after reaching the page you will need to refresh the page.

• You must download it to and run it from your Desktop
• Physically disconnect from the internet.
• Now STOP all your monitoring programs (Antivirus/Antispyware, Guards and Shields) as they could easily interfere with ComboFix.
• Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
• When ComboFix has finished running, you will see a screen stating that it is preparing the log report
• This can take a while, so please be patient. If you see your Windows desktop disappear, do not worry. This is normal and ComboFix will restore your desktop before it is finished. Eventually you will see a new screen that states the program is almost finished and telling you the programs log file, or report, will be located at C:\ComboFix.txt.
• Re-enable all the programs that were disabled during the running of ComboFix..
• Then post back here with that log and a new scan log from HiJackThis.

Note:
Do not mouse-click combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.

Run Combofix ONCE only!!

I disabled AVG and tried to run ComboFix but it said it couldn't run with AVG installed and that i had to uninstall it. I don't like the idea of completely removing my antivirus program, so here's just the HiJack This log

I am sorry you have chosen not to continue with this cleanup.

If nothing else you should at least remove the program Registry Defense it is known for spam, malware, phishing and other malicious files. Here is the rating for it's home website, not a very reliable program. http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/registrydefense.com

Your java is 11 updates behind, which also puts your computer at great risk and one of the reasons for these serious infections and search redirects. This is just one of the things this rootkit does, takes advantage of out of date java in order to maintain control over the searches done by the user.

HiJackThis is not an infection removal program. It was never intended to remove infections but for use as a scanner which, in the past, MAY have pointed out infections, with today's more complex infections, like rootkits, infected files or entries rarely, If EVER now show in a HJT log and it absolutely, positively cannot be used and was never intended to be used as an infection removal program.

After all clean up tools are run then HJT might be used to remove tool bars, incorrect search entries, old missing file entries and that type of thing but it never is used to remove infections.

I gave you the standard tool today used to remove the TDSS rootkit, which you used, but that tool only removes the rootkit and nothing else. After a rootkit is removed then all of the other infections must be removed using special tools.

Here is a simple explanation of what was removed by the TDSSKiller and what this infection does:
Rootkit.Win32.TDSS is a universal malicious program which can hide the presence of any other malicious programs in the system and provide enhanced privileges on an infected system.

The standard next step would be the running of combofix which is specialized tool that is used to remove the other deep, hidden multiple infections that the rootkit brought onto the computer that cannot be removed by other normal tools but you have chosen not to do this and that certainly is your right.

Since you have chosen not to run this additional tool and therefore any others which could be needed after that I would advise that you do no shopping, banking or anything like that which would require the use of personal information. If you do have personal information on the computer I would advise you to remove it immediately.

It is of course your choice to elect to stop the clean up. Just remember, AVG did NOT prevent or help with the removal of these infections.
